  • Microcrystalline cellulose NF

How do ZETIA works?

ZETIA (ezetimibe) is a drug used to treat high cholesterol that works differently than statins, which lower cholesterol by 35 to 60% in most patients and reduce the risk of heart attack. Statins work by blocking an enzyme used by the liver to produce cholesterol.

The drug acts on the brush border of the small intestine and inhibits the absorption of cholesterol. This leads to a decrease in the delivery of intestinal cholesterol to the liver. But other medicines of cholesterol should not be taken together, and you need a frequent blood test to measure your cholesterol levels.

Side effects of ZETIA
