How does Susten 200 work?
Susten 200 capsule contains a Progesterone supplement, this is a female hormone and if a woman doesn’t produce enough of it, it can cause her to have irregular menstrual cycles and to have trouble maintaining a pregnancy. This supplement behaves like the natural hormone progesterone and performs their progestational functions, such as to stimulate changes in vagina, uterus and also the luteal actions, as noticed in early pregnancy. Susten 200 used to treat following conditions:
Susten 200 capsule is used to treat amenorrhea (absence of monthly menstrual periods) in women of childbearing potential due to a lack of progesterone in their body.
Post-menopausal hormonal replacement therapy
Susten 200 capsule is used in Post-menopausal hormonal replacement therapy; its goal is to mitigate discomfort caused by diminished circulating estrogens and progesterone in menopause.
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Susten 200 capsule is also used to treat abnormal bleeding from the vagina due to changes in hormone levels but is not caused by a pregnancy or miscarriage.
Progesterone deficiency during pregnancy
Susten 200 capsule is used for prevention of miscarriages and maintenance of pregnancy in conditions where luteal phase progesterone hormone levels are significantly low. However, it is not recommended to use during later stages of pregnancy (later part of 2nd trimester and the 3rd trimester).
Susten 200 capsule is also used for the treatment of symptoms experienced due to periodic changes in sex hormone levels as a part of the menstrual cycle (hormonal process).
In endometrial hyperplasia, Susten 200 capsule is used to prevent the female sex hormonal imbalance and excess bleeding or intermittent bleeding between periods.
Susten 200 capsule may also be used as a vaginally inserted dosage form to achieve contraception.

In addition to its intended effects, Susten 200 may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek immediate medical attention. Contraindications for Susten 200
Susten 200 capsule is not recommended in following conditions:
Susten 200 is not recommended for use if you have a past history of allergy to its active ingredients (progesterone). This capsule might contain peanut oil and is not recommended to use by patients who are allergic to peanuts.
If you have breast cancer or are suspected to have it then Susten 200 is not recommended for you.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding
Susten 200 is not recommended for use if you have an undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding episode. Inform your doctor about if you have any abnormal vaginal bleeding
Susten 200 is not recommended for use if you had an incomplete miscarriage or missed abortion recently
Heart and blood vessel disorder
Susten 200 is not recommended for use in patients having an active or medical history of stroke, heart attack or thromboembolism. Inform your doctor if you have visual disorder caused by retinal thrombosis
Susten 200 is not recommended for use in patients with liver disorders such as impairment of normal liver function or having a liver disease.
Precautions while taking Susten 200
If you use other medicines or OTC (over the counter) products at the same time, the effects of Susten 200 may change. This may increase your risk for side effects or cause your drug not to work properly.
