Pyrigesic Tablet

Pyrigesic tablet is a pain reliever (analgesic) and fever reducer (antipyretic). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that is responsible for fever and pain. Get to know how Pyrigesic works, its side effects, precautions, and contraindications where Pyrigesic is not suggested.

Uses of Pyrigesic Tablet

Pyrigesic Tablet is used in fever, headache, arthritis, muscle pain, pain during menstruation, dental pain and post-operative pain.

Pyrigesic Tablet is used to relieve pain and inflammation in patients suffering from following conditions:

Osteoarthritis (Arthritis of the joints)

This commonly occurs in patients over the age of 50 and causes the loss of the cartilage and bone tissue which causes severe joint pain.

Pyrigesic Tablet-side effects

Fever

It can cause low to moderate fever with or without chills.

Allergic skin reaction

It can cause red spots on the skin, rashes, and itching.

Nausea or Vomiting

It can cause nausea and vomiting along with other symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth etc.

Mouth / Gastric Ulcer

Pyrigesic Tablet can cause mouth or gastric ulcers.

Anemia

It can cause anemia-like symptoms in some patients.

Fatigue

It can cause tiredness and weakness with pain and twitching of the muscle.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome

Pyrigesic Tablet can cause this rare but potentially fatal allergic reaction of the skin that requires immediate treatment.

Pyrigesic Tablet – Contraindications

Pyrigesic Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to Pyrigesic Tablet
  • Active peptic ulcer
  • Asthma
  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease

Pyrigesic Tablet – Precautions & How to Use

Before consuming Pyrigesic Tablet, tell your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. herbal supplements, vitamins, etc.), pre-existing diseases, allergies, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, liver diseases, kidney problems, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert.   • Severe cardiac impairment
  • History of gastro-ulceration

General warnings:

Overdosage:

Taking more than prescribed dosage may cause harmful side effects. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you find any side effects.

Missing dosage:

If you miss the dosage take as soon as possible, and if it is near to next dose, skip the missing dosage continue the regular dosage. Do not take extra doses.

Pregnancy:

Pyrigesic Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary and the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Pyrigesic Tablet is not known to cause any harm to the fetus, but should only be used after consultation with your doctor.

Breastfeeding:

Pyrigesic Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine consult your doctor.
