What is MYOTOP P?

Introduction

MYOTOP P is a combination medicine prescribed to treat muscle spasms and acute musculoskeletal pains. The combination contains two different medicine called Paracetamol/ Acetaminophen and Tolperisone.

Type of drug

This medicine is combination of two types of drugs –

  • Tolperisone acts as a muscle relaxant
  • Paracetamol/Acetaminophen acts as an analgesic and antipyretic

How does MYOTOP P work?

The two ingredient drugs in MYOTOP P tablet work differently. Tolperisone works as a muscle relaxant by acting on certain region of the brain that is responsible for pains and aid in relieving muscle stiffness and spasms. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is an antipyretic and analgesic drug. It acts on certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever.

How to Take MYOTOP P?

Form of medicine

MYOTOP P is available in the form of tablets.

When to use

It is advised to use exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably after food with water or some liquids.

How to use

Consume the whole tablet. Never chew or crush the tablet.

Common Dosage for MYOTOP P

MYOTOP P is available in the dosage combination of –

  • Tolperisone – 150mg
  • Paracetamol/Acetaminophen – 325mg

Follow the dosage instructions as per the prescription. Never alter the dosage schedule or overdose the medicine. If a certain dose is missed by mistake, never take an extra dose to cover the missed one. Continue with the next dose if it is nearing the next dosage schedule. The onset of action for this medicine is 1 hour. It can show the results in 1 hour after taking the medication. Duration of effect is not clinically established.
