Myospaz Forte Tablet composition and active ingredients
Myospaz Forte Tablet is manufactured by Win-Medicare Pvt Ltd. It is used for Pain and stiffness due to muscle strains and sprains, Muscle pain, Joint pain, Muscle spasm, menstrual pain, Headache, Toothache, Cramping, Ear pain, Fever, and other conditions.
Myospaz Forte Tablet contains following drugs as active ingredients:
- Chlorzoxazone 500mg
- Diclofenac 50mg
- Paracetamol 325mg
Improves the patient’s condition by performing the following functions:
- At the level of spinal cord and subcortical areas of the brain, it inhibits multisynaptic reflex arcs involved in producing and maintaining skeletal muscle spasm and increases pain threshold
- Increases the blood flow to the skin, heat loss and sweating.
Diclofenac is an NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). This drug works by reducing substances in the body that causes pain and inflammation. Diclofenac is used to treat, signs and symptoms or mild to moderate pain of Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout, Migraine, and sprains of muscles and joints.
It acts by blocking the effects of chemicals in your body, which is called COX (cyclo-oxygenase) enzyme and leukocyte migration. These enzymes help in the formation of other chemicals in the body, called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are produced at sites of injury and cause inflammation and pain. By blocking the effects of cox enzyme, fewer prostaglandins are produced, thereby reducing inflammation and pain
Paracetamol is an antipyretic (fever reducer) and analgesic, helps in relieving pain like a headache, menstrual pains, toothache, ear pain, etc.
Myospaz Forte Tablet uses and benefits
Myospaz Forte comes as a tablet to be taken by mouth. It usually is taken 3 or 4 times a day. Take Myospaz Forte Tablet exactly as directed by the physician. Do not take more or less of it or more often than prescribed by your doctor. Ask your physician to explain anything you do not understand and follow all the directions on your prescription label carefully
However, this medicine does not replace rest, exercise, physiotherapy, or other treatments that your physician may recommend for your medical condition.
Myospaz Forte Tablet prescribed to treat the following conditions:
Myospaz Forte Tablet used to treat muscle spasms which are caused by overuse of muscles and muscle fatigue, dehydration, and electrolyte abnormalities.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to treat joint pain caused by arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to relieve tooth pain and jaw pain that are caused by tooth decay.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to treat pain and cramping associated with the menstrual cycle in women.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to treat relieve all types of muscular pains which are caused by strains, overstretching, and tendon injuries, etc.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is used to provide temporary relief from pyrexia (fever) but it does not treat the underlying cause of the fever
Myospaz Forte Tablet is also used to relieve migraine and acute headaches.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is also used to treat mild to severe back pain caused by muscle strain, arthritis, sciatica, and herniated disc.
Myospaz Forte Tablet – Side effects
In addition to its intended effect, Myospaz Forte Tablet may produce some unwanted effects. In such cases, you should take immediate medical attention. This is not a comprehensive list of side effects. Please inform your physician if you experience adverse drug reactions:
Allergic Skin reaction
Myospaz Forte Tablet can cause rashes, red spots on skin, hives, and itching.
Myospaz Forte Tablet can cause low to moderate fever with or without chills.
Nausea or Vomiting
Myospaz Forte Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting along with other symptoms like diarrhea abdominal, pain, dry mouth.
Discoloration of urine along with a sudden decrease in amount of urine might occur while on this medication.
In some patients, these tablets can cause anemia-like symptoms.
Myospaz Forte Tablet Contraindications
Myospaz Forte Tablet contraindicated in following conditions:
If you have a known allergy to Myospaz Forte Tablet then it is not recommended.
If you are suffering from impaired kidney function due to excessive usage of painkillers then Myospaz Forte Tablet is not recommended.
If you are suffering from any type of liver disorder then Myospaz Forte Tablet is not recommended.
Myospaz Forte Tablet Dosage
For relaxing muscles
Adults – 500 mg (milligrams) 3 or 4 times a day. Your physician may adjust your dose if needed.
Children – Not recommended for the children below 12 years of age without pediatric consultation. Use and dose must be determined by your physician.
Myospaz Forte Tablet – Precautions & How to Use
Before consuming Myospaz Forte Tablet, tell your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. herbal supplements, vitamins, etc.), past medical problems, allergies, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, liver diseases, kidney problems, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. - History of peptic-ulcers
- Patients recovering from a surgery
- Avoid driving and avoid operating heavy machinery while on the medication
- Gastro-intestinal disorders
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Severe cardiac impairment
Taking more than prescribed Myospaz Forte Tablet may cause harmful side effects. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you find any side effects.
If you miss the first does take as soon as possible, and if it is near to next dose, skip the missing dosage and continue with the next dosage. Do not take extra doses.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary and the potential benefits outweigh the risks involved. Myospaz Forte Tablet is not known to cause any harm to the fetus, but should only be used after consultation with your physician.
Myospaz Forte Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine consult your doctor.
Myospaz Forte Tablet – Drug Interactions
Using Myospaz Forte Tablet with any of the following drugs is usually not recommended, but may be required in some cases. If both medicines are prescribed together, your physician may change the dose or how often you use one or both of the medicines. Myospaz Forte Tablet may interact with the following drugs and products
- Interfere with certain laboratory tests
- Juxtapid mipomersen
- Muscle Relaxants
If you use other over the counter products or other drugs at the same time, the effects of the Myospaz Forte Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your physician about all the medicines you are taking including prescription and non-prescription medicines, herbal supplements, alcohol or tobacco, food, and vitamins.
